The defender was booed and insulted by supporters at an open training session in Alicante on Monday but he remains defiant Gerard Pique had been understandably left in a state of despair by the time he faced the press after Barcelona's meeting with Las Palmas at an empty Camp Nou on Saturday. He and his team-mates had been forced by the Professional Football League (LFP) to play a game of football while people trying to vote on Catalan independence were being brutally assaulted by police officers sent by the Spanish government to supress a referendum regarded as illegal. Mignolet started in goal for Belgium on Friday night in a 3-1 win over Italy in Brussels and the Liverpool man's performance pleased Wilmots, who says he will also start against Spain."Mignolet is now 27 years old and so is coming to his best age. That he was good against Italy didn't surprise me" , he told a press conference.
"Something can always happen with Thibaut Courtois and Simon's mentality is an example to the squad" , he continued.
"It was not easy for him to give up his place as number 1.
"Simon w…

stunner from mario gasper

Whatever David Platt can do, Mario Gaspar can do it better.
During a predictably turgid friendly between England and Spain, the Villarreal right-back lit up the match with an outrageous on-the-turn finish.
