Kylian Mbappe beats Gabriel Jesus, Ousmane Dembele to win Golden Boy

Image
Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has won the European Golden Boy award with Gabriel Jesus, Marcus Rashford, Christian Pulisic and Ousmane Dembele among the players to miss out.
The award, handed out annually by Italian newspaper Tuttosport to Europe's top footballer under the age of 21, is decided by a panel of 30 journalists and relates to performances across the calendar year.
France international Mbappe, 18, helped Monaco to the Ligue 1 title and Champions League semifinals last season before joining Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan that is set to become a €180 million deal. He became the highest-scoring teenager in the Champions League this week when he netted against Monaco.
Fellow France international Dembele became Barcelona's record signing in the summer after having built on his early promise with Rennes during his solitary season at Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old has yet to make an impact at the Camp Nou, though, after suffering a serious injury …

Sergio Aguero scores hat trick as Man City ease past Gladbach in UCL

Image
Sergio Aguero scored his second hat trick of the season as Manchester City overpowered Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 in their delayed Champions League Group C opener.
Kelechi Iheanacho also got on the scoresheet late on as City made up for lost time after torrential rain washed out the first attempt to play the fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
Aguero, who is currently suspended from domestic action, opened the scoring after nine minutes, added a second from the penalty spot and completed his treble after 77 minutes before Iheanacho added a fourth.
It was another highly convincing performance by City, who did not even seem to get into top gear as they cruised to a seventh successive win under Pep Guardiola.
City, much like last weekend's derby against Manchester United, were superb in the first half, with their movement quick and passing crisp and this time maintained their domination for longer.

LLiverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said he has never heard a bad word about Raheem Sterling, despite criticism of the club by the England winger's agent.Sterling, who left Anfield for Manchester City in a £49 million deal in July, is set to face his former club for the first time when they meet in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The move happened in acrimonious circumstances after several months of contract wrangling, during which Sterling gave a television interview revealing that he had turned down an offer of £100,000 a week to stay.More than once, Sterling's agent Aidy Ward has said his client suffered for being asked to play out of position at Liverpool, and this week said he had taken a step up by moving to City.
