Luis Suarez Reveals How He Reacted When Barcelona Still Wanted Him After 2014 World Cup Bite

Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez has spoken of the moment that he was reduced to tears upon discovering that the Catalan giants still wanted to sign him even after he was kicked out of the 2014 World Cup and later given a worldwide ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini.

Having been no stranger to controversy following a deliberate handball at the previous World Cup in 2010, biting Otman Bakkal and Branislav Ivanovic, and racially abusing Patrice Evra, Suarez admitted to current team-mate Gerard Pique in a chat for The Players' Tribunethat he his dream move would be dead after what happened in that moment of madness in Brazil.
"After I did it I realized immediately [what I had done]," the Uruguayan explained.
"We scored our goal a few minutes after and I didn't celebrate it as much as I usually would - the way everyone else celebrated it - because I was already thinking about the aftermath [of the bite]."

In August 2016, Suárez and Coutinho played a pre-season match at Wembley |MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB Philippe Coutinho is FC Barcelona’s latest signing and with his arrival he can now link up once again with his former Liverpool team mate Luis Suárez.

 Both players were at Anfield for a period of 18 months and together they almost led the ‘Reds’ to a first league title in over 20 years in the 2013/14 season.

That campaign Suárez scored no less than 31 goals in the Premier League, a total that netted him his first ever Golden Shoe award. 

The Brazilian and the Uruguayan played together in 36 matches that year; 33 in the league and 3 in the FA Cup.

 The two South Americans combined to help Liverpool to one of their best ever league campaigns in recent years with the Merseyside club only pipped to the title by Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City in the last few weeks of the season.

Luis Suarez's two-game Copa del Rey ban has been upheld by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), after an appeal from Barcelona failed.The Uruguay striker was sanctioned for his part in a post-match altercation following Barca's 4-1 Copa win over Espanyol last week.Barca overturned an early strike from Felipe Caicedo in the first leg of the last-16 tie at Camp Nou thanks to a Lionel Messi brace and goals from Gerard Pique and Neymar.
But derby-day tensions threatened to boil over during the second half as Espanyol duo Hernan Perez and Pape Diop were sent off.In referee Juan Martinez Munuera's report, Suarez was accused of provoking a confrontation between players from both clubs in the tunnel.Suarez will miss Wednesday's second leg, along with an anticipated quarter-final first leg tie.

Pogba would become Barcelona’s second-most expensive player in the club’s history - should the move go ahead - following Luis Suarez’s reported fee of £75m following his transfer from Liverpool in 2014.
