Ronaldo sells one of his Balloon d'Ors

Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has auctioned one of his four Ballon d’Ors for a whopping €600,000 at a charity auction.
Ronaldo is giving every penny made from the sale, to the Make-A-Wish charity.
The organisation attempts to grant one wish to children fighting life-threatening conditions.
Ronaldo first won the award with Manchester United in 2008 and then a further three times with Real in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
The 32-year-old specifically asked for the replica of his 2013 award to be auctioned.
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola also took part in the event, spending €30,000 to watch a boxing match in Manchester and had a meet and greet with the two coaches.

Breaking news: FIFA gives up Ballon D’Or

French publication France Football has parted
ways with FIFA over the organisation of football’s
prestigious award, the Ballon d’Or.“The end of the partnership between France
Football and FIFA will lead to a new look of
Ballon d’Or. Discover it next Tuesday in FF,” read
a news release of the French publication.The Ballon d’Or was first introduced in 1956,
when the European Cup (now known as the
Champions League) came into existence, to
reward players based on their performances in the
previous 12 months on votes exclusively from journalist in Europe.The FIFA World Player of the Year, on the other
hand, was introduced in 1991 and awarded until
2009 with the winner decided by votes from
national team coaches and captains from all of
the association members.In 2010, the Ballon d’Or and the FIFA World
Player of the Year were fused for the FIFA Ballon
d’Or to select the world’s best player of the year,
based on votes from media, team coaches and

The Frenchman is vehemently against the Ballon d'Or, saying it can ruin careers, but the Real Madrid star he his remaining silent on the subject.
Cristiano Ronaldo says that he respects Arsene Wenger's negative views on the Ballon d'Or but refused to be drawn on whether he agrees with the Frenchman's argument that such prizes promote "selfishness".
