Dani Alves has become the most successful footballer in history following Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de la Ligue triumph over Monaco.The Brazilian, 35, now has 36 trophies, overtaking compatriot Maxwell, who he had gone level with after winning the French Super Cup in August.Alves started his career in 2001 with local side Bahia, winning the Copa do Nordeste in his second season.A move to La Liga with Sevilla soon followed – but he didn’t win anything for the first three years. However, in 2006, they won their first Uefa Cup, which they retained a year later, having won the Uefa Super Cup in between.In 2007, they added the Copa del Rey before beating Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup.Things got even better for Alves that summer as he won his first international trophy. Paul Pogba has been the dominant figure in the summer's transfer speculation whirl so far -- but those weary of his name will be happy to know today's lead for Transfer Talk one isn't completely about him. It's to do with who might replace the France international at Juventus if he goes to Manchester United or Real Madrid -- and the main name in the frame is Javier Mascherano, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport. The Serie A champions want the Barcelona man to fill the large gap that would be left in their midfield by a £100 million or so Pogba move. Corriere dello Sport says that Argentina international Mascherano, once of West Ham and Liverpool, could be tempted to Juve despite having voiced a desire to stay at Barcelona.

James Milner feels there is even more to come from Liverpool after their stunning victory at Manchester City.Jurgen Klopp's rampant Reds knocked City off the top of the Premier League with a comprehensive 4-1 win at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
